Welcome to Love, Lies and Scandals
We’ve rebranded. It was mutual… probably.
Breakups are inevitable. We broke up with our old logo.
(Actually, I think it broke up with me. It said I was too emotionally available.)
laugh through the heartbreak.
Heal through the hilarity.
Welcome to Love, Lies & Scandals
Where passion meets poor judgment—and we blog about both with flair.
I’m The Cynical Romantic, your emotionally bruised but weirdly optimistic tour guide through the wreckage of heartbreak, hopeful longing, and the occasional "maybe I should’ve just texted my therapist instead" moment.
This site was born somewhere between a breakup playlist, a questionable situationship, and the realization that falling in love is a lot like ordering mystery sushi at 2 a.m.—sometimes delicious, sometimes toxic, and almost always expensive.
Whether you’re here to laugh, scream into a throw pillow, or find comfort in shared chaos—welcome. You’re in sarcastically supportive company
Here’s what you’ll find in these deliciously unhinged pages:
Love Gone Wrong – Cautionary tales, ghosting epics, and the kind of romance that ends in blocked numbers and passive-aggressive Spotify playlists. Read This Week’s Latest Blog Post
💗 Yet, Still Hopeful – Because despite everything, we keep swiping, hoping, and occasionally falling face-first into something real. Read This Week’s Latest Blog Post
🧠 Do Better. Be Better. – Honest takes on mental health, emotional growth, ADHD/OCD relationships, and how not to lose your mind (or partner) in the process. Read This Week’s Latest Blog Post
Oh, and the affiliate link thing:
Yes, I recommend books, products, and services I actually use—or find so absurd they deserve attention. Clicking those links helps me cover important things like therapy co-pays, coffee, and streaming subscriptions where I emotionally rewatch the same love triangle for the 8th time.

The Cynical Romantic
Just a guy with trust issues, Wi-Fi, and a playlist called “Bad Decisions Vol. 3.” He’s been ghosted, gaslit, and left on read—but somehow still believes in soulmates... probably.

Real-life Rom-Com Moment:
Remember when you casually mentioned you'd love to see the ocean and ended up waking up at a seaside Airbnb the next morning? Yep, that's ADHD in action—romantic, spontaneous, and just a little reckless.
Yet, still hopeFul
These are the stories that keep me believing... against my better judgment.
Not every love story ends with betrayal, ghosting, or someone storming out of a restaurant mid-appetizer.
Here you'll find real stories — quiet miracles, second chances, unexpected reunions, and the kind of love that makes you believe maybe, just maybe... it doesn’t always end in therapy and Spotify break-up playlists.
They’re rare. They’re beautiful.
And honestly, they’re the reason I haven’t deleted this entire blog and moved to a cabin in the woods. Yet.
Ken and Pat’s love story spanned more than seven decades—a testament to the kind of love we all yearn for but few are lucky enough to find.
They lived simply but loved extraordinarily.
Some call it soulmates. Others call it destiny.
I call it true love. Because their love story never ended.
the Cynical Romantic
You don’t know me—but you probably are me. Or at least, you’ve dated me. Or ghosted someone like me. Or maybe you’re still trying to decode that one text that said, “Let’s circle back after Mercury retrograde.”
I’m the voice behind this blog: romantic enough to believe in second chances, cynical enough to draft the breakup text three weeks early—just in case. I’ve loved boldly, lost embarrassingly, and Googled “is it emotionally reckless to send one more meme?”
This corner of the internet is my ongoing experiment in love, heartbreak, healing, and occasionally screaming into the void (with proper punctuation). I write anonymously—not for mystery, but because someday my mom might read this. And also because my last situationship still follows me on Instagram.
At 13, I thought I understood romance thanks to a mysterious VHS tape my older brother swore was “educational.” Spoiler: it was not. But the real lessons? They came from bad dates, worse decisions, and the surprisingly therapeutic power of blogging through your feelings.
So here I am—heart slightly bruised, fingers dramatically poised over the keyboard—still hoping for a happy ending. Or at least a decent Wi-Fi signal and someone who knows how to reply to a text.
